The roof of Finca Es Revellar has been constructed using a highly technical building system: multi-layer sandwich panels with a natural wood fiber insulating core, ideal for passive buildings or nearly zero-energy buildings (nZEB).
Roof sandwich panel: high-performance thermal insulation with a natural finish
This type of solution maintains a stable indoor temperature throughout the year, reducing energy demand for air conditioning.
In addition to its excellent thermal performance, the system acts as an acoustic barrier, absorbing external sounds and improving indoor comfort. Its interior finish in varnished exposed wood enhances the natural and warm aesthetics of the living space.
Technical composition of the roofing system
The system consists of several functional layers designed to meet the highest standards of insulation, waterproofing, and structural durability.
Main components:
- Isopan-type sandwich panel with OSB wood faces and continuous interior insulation
- Thermal insulation: natural wood fiber with a density between 140 and 160 kg/m³
- Total thermal resistance: R > 6 m²·K/W
- Supporting structure: treated laminated wood beams, anchored to the perimeter wall
- Interior finish: water-based varnished exposed wood, formaldehyde-free
This type of panel prevents thermal bridges, offers excellent thermal inertia, and is highly breathable, preventing internal condensation.
